About the event
Launched in 2011 by Jamel Debbouze as Marrakech du Rire, the event turned Marrakech into a capital of French-language comedy for a weekend. In 2026 it reinvents itself as the Marrakech Comedy Festival, with new organisation and a new venue, the Palais des Congrès.
It is a chance to discover the Moroccan and international stand-up scene in a festive atmosphere, to combine with Marrakech’s medina, gardens and rooftops in early summer.
